Scrapbook style pages
Scrapbook style pages are basically
collages of print photos pasted onto
templates that
we provide.
This is a good option for those familiar with scrapbooking and is often
more appealing
to yearbook advisors who are not experienced with computer programs. It
is more visual and hands-on.
What you see is what you get. We recommend using a film camera to shoot
all pictures
for the paste-up option and using a quality lab to develop and process
the film. We provide the paste-up
sheets that you use to glue on the photos. When you're done, you simply
turn in the finished
pages for us to scan. Scrapbook style pages can be combined with
digital pages.
Once the paste-up pages are ready and turned in, we scan them and
optimize the digital image quality for printing.
We then lay them out electronically for the press.
How to
select pictures for scrapbook style pages:
1. Select
properly exposed pictures
(not too dark or light, good contrast).
2. Avoid pictures with color cast (unnatural
coloring due to insufficient light).
3. Avoid pictures with heavy
shadows.
How to
paste print photos on template sheets:
1. Use a liquid glue and
make sure the pictures are securely
in place.
2. Do NOT use rubber cement; this can cause
ripples in photos.
3. Cover the background with
pictures whenever possible.
4. Stay within the
borderline of the template.
5. Avoid using inkjet
printouts as paste-ups. Submit digital picture files instead.
How to
submit scrapbook style pages:
1. Make sure each page has
your school’s
name and
a page number.
2. Make sure
the pages are in order.
